Platinum Jubilee of the Kannada Film Industry was celebrated pompously and with splendor on 13th December 2008 at Palace Grounds.

The show was organized by the leading Kannada tabloid Kannada Prabha, a unit of The New Indian Express Group.

The who's who of the Industry was present on this grand occasion. A few Producers, Artists and Directors were also felicitated on the occasion.

The Guests of Honor for the event were - Chairman and Managing Director of Confident Group, Dr. Roy C. J., Chairman of The New Indian Express Group Mr. Manoj Kumar Santholia, Karnataka Film Chambers Association President & Actress Ms. Jayamala and Editor of Kannada Prabha Mr. Ranganath.

The event concluded with a lot of artists performing on stage and a classly spread dinner.
